Evelyn R. Kaess
Evelyn R. Kaess, 92, passed away on August 4, 2015. She was born in Akron on February 23, 1923 to the late Sherman and Ruth McLeland. Evelyn retired from a long career in bookkeeping and accounting. She was the oldest living member of Eastwood Church of the Brethren. Evelyn was a wonderful baker and her delicious cookies will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; and sister, June Tritle. She will be deeply missed by her children, James (Jeanne) Kaess and Marie Brock; brother, Joe (Rita) McLeland; nine grandchildren; great-granddaughters, Hannah Padgett and Samara Kaess, great-grandson, Joshua Bennett; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Summa, Debbie McClusky RN, and Evelyn's favorite aide Michelle for all their loving care.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 3-5 followed by a 5:00 p.m. memorial service at Eastwood Church of the Brethren, 581 Darrow Rd., Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa.
