Evelyn Francis Malterer

Evelyn Frances Malterer, 83, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on October 30, 2025. She was born in Akron on September 21, 1942 to the late Frank and Dorothy {McDermott} Malterer.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters Charlene South and Virginia "Ginny" South and brother-in-law Gene South.

Evelyn is survived by her loving brother, Frank (Mary) Malterer; niece Lisa Malterer; nephew Tim (Angie) South; and a host of family and friends.

Evelyn worked and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 36 working in the mail room. During that 36 years, she only missed one day of work.

In 1965 Evelyn began attending Grace Cathedral. She worked as a Sunday school teacher for many years and volunteered in Angel's memorial garden. Evelyn also traveled on many trips to the Holy Lands with Rev. Angley.

Evelyn was a bright shining Jesus light. She was always sharing kindness, even if it was just a smile. She hid the word of God in her heart. She spent many hours writing and memorizing scripture. Evelyn loved her Jesus and all that He had done for her.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Saturday, November 15th from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12:30 p.m. with Reverend Chris Machamer officiating.
