Eva Wolonsky (nee Berezonsky), 97, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home with family. She was born on March 11, 1916 in Madeira, PA to the late Metro and Anna (Andrako) Berezonsky. Eva was the oldest of eleven children and often mothered her siblings. She retired as a nurse's aide from the former Falls View Mental Health Center and previously worked at Summit County Home. Eva loved gardening vegetables and flowers which were often admired by those who passed by. She was a great baker and loved cooking.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband George Wolonsky, brothers; Nick, Metro, Mike and George Berezonsky and sisters; Catherine Cote, Mary Morganti, Helen Kerlik, Nancy Brown and Betty Newcomb. She is survived by her daughters Joyce Wolonsky and Kathleen Loudin, favorite son-in-law Ron Loudin, special nieces she helped raise Tanya Macchiarole and Lisa Sipe, brother John Berezonsky, grandchildren Michelle and Kevin Loudin, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305, with a funeral service celebration at 7:00 p.m. The Divine Liturgy will take place at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Orthodox Church, 91 S. Arlington St, Akron, OH 44306 with Father Myron Zuder officiating. Final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Mary Orthodox Church where Eva served as a longtime member or to Hospice of Summa.
