Eulalia Méndez, a beacon of cheerful spirit and unwavering faith, peacefully passed away on March 29, 2026. Born on February 12, 1938, her life was a testimony of love, devotion, and commitment to her beliefs, a proud Jehovah's Witness, dedicated preacher, and believer in the resurrection.
(Job 14:13-15) "Life is a morning mist that passes with the wind. A fleeting shadow, it goes leaving behind emptiness and suffering. What hope is there if you die today? Hear what God says: (CHORUS) 'I will call your name eagerly, and you will answer me. You are the work of my hands. Wake up now!' Our God longs to behold His beloved children again." One of her favorite songs and scriptures that reflect her hope.
With an ever-radiant heart and a smile that perpetually adorned her face, Eulalia was a source of happiness for all who knew her. Her laughter was contagious, and she possessed an unfailing ability to cheer those around her with a timely joke or a song that celebrated life’s blessings. Her love for her family was limitless, always illuminated by the joy she found in their presence. She felt immense pride for her ten children, caring for each one with affection and dedicating herself to their well-being.
Her care gracefully extended to her grandchildren and older descendants, with 36 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Fond memories remain of her kind but playful nature, especially the tender way she pinched her grandchildren’s noses to wake them, a charming gesture that reflected her loving and attentive soul. She never saw her family without the profound lens of love, a love that was both her foundation and her crown.
Her care extended gracefully to her grandchildren and older descendants, with 36 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Fond memories are preserved of her kind but playful nature, especially the tender way she would pinch her grandchildren’s noses to wake them, a charming gesture that reflected her loving and attentive soul. She never saw her family without the deep lens of love, a love that was both her foundation and her crown. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julio Méndez and Juana Medina, whose legacy she honored throughout her life with constant faith and kindness. Although some of her beloved children—Javier Ayala Méndez, José Ayala Méndez—have also preceded her, along with dear grandchildren Miguel Ángel García, Dana Paola Ayala Méndez, Armando Javier Ayala Álvarez, and Gerardito Huerta, her memory remains vividly alive in the hearts of those who live. Those who remain to treasure her memory include her daughters Esperanza Ayala Méndez, Martha Ayala Méndez, Juanita Ayala Méndez, Lupe Ayala Méndez, Carmen Ayala Méndez, Isabel Ayala Méndez, and Ana Ayala Méndez; her son Gerardo Ayala Méndez; and the loving friend Karlita Shinn. Along with her extended family, they celebrate the life of a woman who was always happy, always smiled, and whose love never wavered.
