Eugenia McGovern, 95, went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2016. She was born in Akron, OH to the late Wilburt and Olga Burgy. She worked for Mattel Toys in Hawthorne, CA for 16 years. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Eugenia was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul R. McGovern; sisters, Eileen Johnson, and Pearl Sheets; son in-law, Kenneth E. Turner; and grandson, Brian M. Turner.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Linda I. Turner; son, Dennis R. McGovern; grandchildren, Michelle R. (Kevin)Turner-Jones, and Jason McGovern; great-grandchildren, Brittany L. Turner, Anthony S. Jones, and Matthew B. Turner; great-great-grandchildren; AubreyAnna and Jaxon; sister, Zula B. Miron of Barberton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be on Friday October 21, 2016 at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
