Eugene Ripple

Dr. Eugene George Ripple,83, of Stow, went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2015. Eugene was born in Akron, Ohio on December 10, 1931 to the late George and Beatrice Ripple. He served 16 years as a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1967. Eugene retired from Kent State University as a Professor in Aeronautics and as Director of the Kent State Airport in 1992. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring old jukeboxes and soda machines. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Barbara and brother-in-law, George MacDonald. He is survived by, sons, Jeff Ripple and Jim (Joanna) Ripple; grandchildren, Daniel and Anna Jo; sister, Kathy MacDonald and several other loving family members. Family and friends may call on, Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 2pm to 4pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm. Private burial will take place in Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St. Akron Ohio 44308.
