Ethel Louise James, 76, passed away peacefully at home on June 14th, 2022. Born in Akron, Ohio to George and Lillie Mae (Blaum) Johnson, she was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Akron Free Will Baptist Church. Ethel was a very religious woman who enjoyed playing the piano, chatting with her Best Friend Pam Lakatos, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her two brothers, George Miller and Glen Johnson. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 56 years, Brent James; daughters Darlene James and Donna James King; grandchildren, Alexander, Austin, Andrew, and Zoe; beloved dog, Makenzie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Crossroads Hospice nurses for their comfort care of Ethel.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, June 20, 2022 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
