Ernest Curry

Ernest R. Curry went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2015. He served in the US Air Force from 1951-1956. He was especially proud of the year he spent at the North Pole in Thule, Greenland and earned his Brother Blue Nose certificate. He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Edith Curry; sister, Barbara; brother, William; and his wife Jane; niece Rebecca; nephew, David. He leaves behind his wife, Ruth, of 57 years; also five children, Lynn of Akron, Ernest Jr. of Doylestown, Evelyn of Tallmadge, Ron (Veronica) of Colorado, Ken of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Tony, Tina, Scott, Tracey, Kelly, Garrett, Deborah, Josh, and Chrystalline; 7 great-grandchildren; special friends, Debbie, and Dina; sister in-law, Grace; brother in-law Paul (Doris). Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service will be held on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 10am at Visitation of Mary Parish, 87 Broad St. Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
