Elsie M. "Edress" Belvin (nee Flowers), 89, of Randolph, departed this world on April 5, 2014. Elsie was born in Overton County, Tennessee on July 8, 1924 to the late Herman and Beulah Flowers. She was an original 'Rosie the Riveter' at Goodyear Aerospace and member of the Church of Christ in Brimfield, Ohio. Elsie retired from Mohawk Rubber in Akron in 1977. She is loved by many and will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched through her many years.
In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Richard M. Belvin, Sr.; sister, Helen "Bernice" Buterbaugh; brother, Harold "Rudy" Flowers; son-in-law, Charlie McFalls. She is survived by daughters, Dixie M. (Robert) Confere and Karen M. McFalls; sons, Richard "Richie" M. (Carolyn) Belvin Jr. and Leonard H. (Leslie LaFramboise) Belvin; step-daughter, Janice (Robert) Klippel; step-son, Myron Belvin; sisters, Edith (Carl) George, Lucy Kaelin and Faye Elias; brothers, Herman Clifford Flowers and Richard (Joyce) Flowers; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives.
Family and friends may call 6--8 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, OH. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the funeral home with Brother Steve Watts officiating. Final resting place will be at Hillside Cemetery (Randolph).
