Elmer Widmer

Elmer Widmer, 88, of Kent, passed away November 19, 2014. Elmer was born in Doylestown, Ohio on October 29, 1926 to the late Charles and Ruth Widmer. He served in the Army National Guard for three years. Elmer retired from Ohio Edison in 1988 after 40 years and 3 months. He was a member of the Water Street Church of the Brethren. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports on TV and golfing, bowling and family events. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by his son, Larry Widmer. He is survived by wife, Dorothy Widmer; sons, Chuck (Deborah) Widmer,and David (Cindy) Widmer; daughter, Ruth Ann Widmer; step-son, Warren (Judy) Setree; step-daughter, Rebecca (Les) Russell, step-son, Keith Setree, step-son, Wesley (Jackie) Setree, step-son, Kenneth Setree, step-daughter, Karen (Gillie) Capps, step-daughter, Rachel Setree, and step-son, Kevin (Yen) Setree and a host Of grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be conducted on Thursday December 4, 2014 at Water Street Church of the Brethren, 1541 Water St. Kent, Ohio 44240. In honoring Elmer's wishes he has been cremated. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Water Street Church of the Brethren.
