Elizabeth Rose Heckman

Elizabeth Rose Heckman, 82, of Akron, passed away on October 15, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1943 to the late Samuel and Betty {Smith} McNeill.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband David Heckman.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Kimberly Lukinac, Rose Marie Tronge, Clint (Julie) Heckman and David Heckman; grandchildren Savannah Nelson, David Heckman II, Hailey Heckman, Jarrett Tronge and Conner Heckman; great-grandchildren Jayce and Gabriella; sister Pam.

Elizabeth was an avid bowler and bird watcher, as well as an excellent cook. She enjoyed going out on the lake with David and Savannah on their boat, "Bettyz Boyz". She made wonderful memories fishing and camping with her children when they were younger.

Elizabeth was a devout Catholic, and a founding member of St. Mary's Anglican Catholic Church. 

Family was everything to Elizabeth, and that extended to the children she fostered over the years. She did everything she could to provide a safe, warm and loving home to kids in need. Elizabeth was also "Grandma Betty" to the children from her daughter's preschool. 

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Wednesday, October 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service that begins at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow the service at Woods Cemetery, where Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her husband.
