Elizabeth A. Rager

Betty A. Rager, 83, of Akron, went to Heaven on May 30, 2014 to join her parents Mryl and Jane Shields; brothers, Harry and Tom Shields; sisters, Dorothy Shields, Bernice Weber and Sara Webb.

She was born in Clover Run, PA and graduated from Punxsutawney High School. She retired from Firestone to become a full time housewife and mother. Betty enjoyed baking, gardening, garage sales and couponing, but church and family was first in her life.
Betty is survived by her husband of 62 years, Laird; children, Karen (Mark) Gniewek, Joyce Rager and Larry Rager; sister, Mary Cramer; grandchildren, Mitch, Deidre, and Alexa; many family and friends.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 3, from 4-6 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A memorial service will follow calling hours at 6:00 p.m. with Dr. Gary C. Bailey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Summa at Home.

Burial will take place in Clover Run, PA.
