Eldon Hoover, 89, of Springfield Township, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Summa Hospital in Akron. He was born on February 16, 1936 to Roman and Thelma Hoover (Parameter).
He lived in the Springfield Township area all his life and was an accomplished carpenter who built many homes in the area. He was especially talented at trim work and building cabinets.
Eldon devoted 6 years to serving in the United States Army where he also did carpentry.
He loved airplanes and spent many hours and years building scale airplanes and flying {crashing) and rebuilding planes with his brothers. Eldon and his wife loved traveling and casinos. They visited Hawaii and Colorado several times.
Eldon was gifted with the "Hoover sense of humor and sarcasm". He was quick witted and ready with corny jokes for any occasion.
Eldon is predeceased by his first wife, Ruth and His second wife, Margie in 2009. He was also predeceased by his many siblings. Sisters: Idalee Doyle, Dorothy Klingelheber, Marilyn Matics, Juanita Kirkbride, and Wilma Jean. Brothers: Charles (Bud), Robert, Jim, June (Wilmer), Ronnie, and Donnie.
Eldon is survived by his Sister; Betty Brown of Georgia and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, on Wednesday, August 6th, at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Brenda Young officiating.
Interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park.
