Eileen Ruth McCumbers (nee Oborne)
Eileen Ruth McCumbers, 69, passed away on June 25, 2015. She was born in Akron on January 9, 1946 to the late Albert and Ruth Oborne. Eileen loved the Lord and shared her faith freely with others. She was an active member of Eastern Road Church of God. where she often volunteered in the kitchen. Eileen was a wonderful cook and her annual batches of peanut brittle will be missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Oborne and Virginia Stevens.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Clarence McCumbers; sons, Brian (Sherry), Karl (Noelle), and Jason (Melissia) McCumbers; sister-in-law, Ellen Oborne; grandchildren, Brian Jr., Carolyn (Alan) Allman, Malachi, Noah, Devyn, Wyatt, and Julia.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10-11 followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service with Rev. Faron Cole officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eileen's family.
