Edwin Potter

Edwin C Potter, 85, of Akron, passed away October 14, 2014. Edwin was born in Barberton, Ohio on November 6, 1928 to the late Victor and Verda Potter. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. Edwin retired from Akron Standard Foods after 33 years. In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his twin brother Edgar and brother, Richard. He is survived by spouse, Barbara Potter to whom he shared 59 years of marriage and was one month shy of celebrating their 60th anniversary; daughter, Michelle Rae Burdette; sons, David Scott Potter, Duane C Potter; daughter, Ruth A (Jeffrey) Stilgenbauer and 5 grandchildren; sister, Shirley Moon. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Bath Manor for all of their love and support given to Edwin and his family. Family and friends may call on, Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Steven Partridge officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the CCFA.org or St. Judes Children Hospital.
