Edward O. Smith

Edward O. Smith, 81, passed away on February 12, 2015. He was born in New Waterford, OH on October 22, 1933 to the late Leo and Mabel Smith. He was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. Edward was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and singing.

Preceded in death by his son, Francis Paul Smith; a grandson, Keven Smith, Jr; sister, Alma and Lois; and 2 brothers, Paul and Lloyd.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of 24 years; children, Debra (Steve) Stanley, of Webster, FL, Edward O. Smith, Jr., of Greensboro, NC, John L. (Linda) Smith, of Columbiana, OH, Julie (Jeff) Dobson, of Austintown, OH, Carey R. Smith, of Aliquippa, PA, Keven M. Smith, of Columbiana, OH, and Johnnie E. Smith, of Akron; grandchildren, Steven, Joshua, and Elizabeth Stanley, Nichole, Jeffrey, Brandon, and Jason Dobson, Jennifer, Samantha, Sabrina, Delores, and Jebadiah Smith, Mersedes and Whitney Mears, and Brandy Smith; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Steven, and Abrahm Stanley, Parker Dobson, Ian Witherow, Jacobi and Isla Miller, and Novalynn Mears; and siblings, Carl, Louis, Wayne, and Willis Smith, Carol Hill, and Dorothy Cherico.

Calling hours will be Sunday, 2-4 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
