Edward J. Morton, Sr.

Edward J. "Big Ed" Morton, Sr. age 32, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home in Akron. He was born on October 23, 1980 to Nardella (Andrew) Stockard and Edward Gooden. Edward worked for Saurez Manufacturing Company in Canton, OH and enjoyed listening, producing and performing his rap and R&B music.

He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Margaret Dickerson; grandmother, Edith Mae Wigglesworth; grandfathers, Jesse Portis and Jesse Gooden; uncle, James Gooden.

He is survived by his son, Edward J. Morton, Jr. and Jr.'s mother, Dedosha Smith; mother, Nardella (Andrew) Stockard; brothers, Jesse Gooden and Marcus Morton; stepbrothers, Roderick, Demetrius, Andrew, Jr. and Andre Stockard; grandmother, Lillie Gooden; Aunts, Lynnett Duckworth, Andrea Wigglesworth, Sharon Roberts, Johnnie Mae Rentas, Jessie Gooden, Linda Corlew, Amanda Williams and Cyntha Richardson; great aunts, Letitia Kendall, Carolyn Thomas, Arzella Burnside, Revella Peace, Lolita Taylor; uncles, Robert Gooden, Jobie Morton, Brady Edmundson and Michael Richardson; great uncles, Edward Burnside and Anthony Burnside; favorite cousins, Frank Gooden and Edward Burnside, III; nephews, Jesse , Jr., Jae-Meir and one on the way; nieces, Breana, Jayla and Justice; a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may call 5-8 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the funeral home.
