Edith "Eadie" Rotondo

Edith "Eadie" Vargo Rotondo, 92, of Akron, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. She was born in Barberton, Ohio on November 21, 1933 the daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Vargo. A proud Barbertonian, she graduated from Barberton High School, Class of 1951. After high school, she worked for Sun Rubber and later at Barberton Citizens Hospital, where she served as secretary to the hospital administrator. In 1964, she married Ronald Rotondo, and together they raised their family. Eadie was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family. She expressed her love through her cooking and by being actively involved in her daughter's life. She was a dedicated member of the Ellet PTA, attending school events and forming many lasting friendships. She enjoyed gatherings with her friends, especially playing euchre, and her home was always welcoming. A pot of fresh coffee and a plate of cookies were never far away, and she delighted in providing hospitality to all who visited. Eadie was known as a wonderful cook, she took joy in preparing meals for her family and friends. She was a woman of faith and her love and kindness shone bright to all. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Ronald Rotondo; and brotherJack Vargo.

Eadie is survived by her loving daughter Rella Rotondo; brother Anthony T. Vargo Jr.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held April 2nd, Thursday, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 6:00pm.
