Earl T. Curtis, 70, of Akron, passed away on July 12, 2015. He was born in Akron on May 17, 1945. Earl proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1969. He served on the USS Waccamaw and had two tours of duty in Danang, Vietnam. He returned home and worked for the City of Akron Highway Maintenance Department, retiring in 1994. Earl was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia "Ginger", and the love of his life, Barbara. He will be deeply missed by Ginger, Hope, Tommy, Kristen, and Faith, brother Rat, three sisters, many nieces and nephews, as well as his second family at St. Luke's Nursing Home in Portage Lakes. A celebration of Earl's life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Firestone VFW Post 3383, 690 W. Waterloo Rd., Akron, OH 44314.
