Earl R. Kelvington, Jr.

Earl R. Kelvington, Jr., 82, of Springfield Twp., went to be with Jesus his Lord and Savior on March 25, 2014.

Preceded in death by his parents, Earl R. Kelvington, Sr. and Martha M. Kelvington; and son, William Ross Kelvington.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois; son, Earl R. Kelvington, III (Sharon), of Tallmadge; grandsons, Luke E. Kelvington (Joanna), Michael R. Kelvington (Megan), and Kyle W. Kelvington; 4 great-grandchildren, Risk Monroe, McKinley Ann, Madison Rose, and Clara Grace.

Earl retired from Kelvington Auto Service Inc. in 1995 where he had worked for over 51 years. He was co-owner with his wife and later son, Earl, III, who is the current owner. He took 4 years out to serve in the United States Air Force, 1950-54. Earl was a member of Community Baptist Temple for over 5 years. He served on the Haven of Rest Board of Trustees for almost 20 years and was member Emeritus. Earl had been a valued volunteer there for many years.

Visitation will be SUNDAY, 2-5 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held TUESDAY at 12 p.m., with Pastor Mark O' Donnell officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Haven of Rest or Community Baptist Temple.
