Earl L. Gordon, 79, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2014.
Earl was born in Wayne, Mississippi to the late Julius and Viola Gordon. He served with the US Navy and retired from White Rubber Co. Earl was a member of American Legion Post #674 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, CB radios, football, and watching sports on TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 siblings. Survivors include his beloved wife, Teresa, of 57 years; sons, Frederick and Edward; daughters, Jeanette (Robert) Townend and Loretta Gordon; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Julius W., Jr.; and sisters, Dorothy (James) Bass and Marylee (Thomas) Byrd.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. Interment at Grandview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cleveland Eye Bank, 6700 Euclid Ave. #101, Cleveland, OH 44103.
