Earl Hoch
Earl Hoch, 89, of Akron, passed away on September 28, 2015. He was born in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1926 to the late Frank and Blanche Hoch. Earl was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served on a PT boat during World War II. He was a mold finisher at Goodyear Tire and Rubber, retiring after over 25 years of service. Earl was a longtime member of New Horizons Christian Church. An avid outdoorsman, he belonged to the Goodyear Hunting and Fishing Club. He also loved bowling and had a gift for fixing things around the home.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ida; and five siblings. He will be deeply missed by his children, Robert (Mary) Hoch, Ronald (Joyce) Hoch, Bonnie (Mark) Candle, Betty Jo (Russell) Mathias, and Donna (Charles) Hysell; brother, Chet (Myra) Hoch; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous relatives in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015 from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with Pastor Jim Bane officiating.
