Earl Dwane Damron, affectionately known as “Hot Rod” by his mother, a name that fit him perfectly and reflected the way he lived, was born November 11, 1954, and passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2025.
Earl was born in Pike County, Kentucky, and lived most of his life in Akron, Ohio. A lifelong lover of all things cars, Earl spent the majority of his working life in the auto body business, ultimately fulfilling a dream by owning and operating his own body shop. The garage was where Earl found his greatest joy, working on his own cars and the cars of friends. It was more than a hobby; it was where he felt most at home.
Earl also loved his animals dearly and cared for them as family. Those who knew Earl would say that, above all else, he loved his family. Though known to be stubborn at times, his love was deep and unwavering. He loved his wife, his children, his stepchildren, his parents, and his sister, and he would do anything for any of them.
Earl is survived by his children, Chelsea (Ken) Tolliver of Nashport, Ohio, and Dustin (Leslie) Damron of Westerville, Ohio; his stepchildren, John (Tanya) Wedlake, Joe (Michelle) Wedlake, and Lynn (John) Milo, whom he loved very much; and his grandchildren, Kennedy, Evan, Shelby, Jessica, Carson, Taylor, Vincent, and Jaclyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Neva Jo Damron, his wife, Bernadette Damron, his sister Kathy Mollica and granddaughter, Victoria Milo.
There will be no service at this time. Earl will be lovingly cremated, with a private burial to take place at a later date. To leave a special message for Earl's family, please visit the guest book below.
