Drema Kay Jackson, born October 16, 1954, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched the lives of those around her. She went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.
Drema was a bright light and a kind soul whose love showed in the everyday ways she cared for others. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an unmistakably ornery spirit that her family knew and loved. From the jewelry she lovingly made to the kindness she so freely shared, she gave those she loved memories they will treasure forever. Her influence lives on in the people she helped raise, the lives she touched, and the love they will continue to share because of her.
Though her absence leaves an ache in the hearts of those who loved her, her family finds comfort in knowing that after years of living with chronic pain, Drema is finally free from pain and at peace.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna; her aunt, Charlene; her uncle, Nelson; her brother, Jay; her brother-in-law, Bob; and her nephew, Mikey.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Kim) and Desire; her grandchildren, Lacey, Mikey (Erin), and Haley (Scott); her great-grandchildren, Kynzleigh and Camden; and her sister, Carolyn. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Rhonda; her nieces and nephews, Steve, Kati (Mike), Bobby, Shauna, Joshua, Doris and Jay; countless great-nieces and great-nephews; and bonus grandchildren she counted as her own.
Drema will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her family will carry her love with them always.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Rockynol, as well as Shauna and the staff of H5 and the angels of 3 East at Summa Health Systems, for the incredible care and comfort they provided Drema during her final days.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 pm, immediately followed by a 4:00 pm funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.
