Doug Carpenter

Doug Carpenter, 69, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. He resided in the Akron area all of his adult life. Doug retired from the City of Akron with 32 years of service. Known for his sarcasm and living life on his own terms, Doug enjoyed going to the beach, riding his bike, completing projects around the house, attending the sporting events of his grandkids, cooking and spending time with his family.

Doug will be sadly missed by his wife of 48 years, Sherry; children, Kyle Carpenter, Ryan (Kelsey) Carpenter, Kelly (Gary) Somerville; 8 grandchildren, Braden, Emery, Colt, Kip, Clay, Evelyn, Eli, Owen; father, Glen Carpenter.

The family will have a celebration of Doug's life at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Doug's name to the charity of their choice.
