Dorothy J. Shaffer

Dorothy J. Shaffer, 93, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017. She was born in Uniontown, PA on October 17, 1923 and was a longtime resident of Mogadore, OH. Dorothy was a caring woman who dedicated herself to her home and family. She enjoyed visiting with friends and relaxing outdoors on her deck.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Paul Shaffer and sister, Margaret Prince. She will be deeply missed by her children, Paula (William) Stamey, Lori Zerhouane, and Todd (Lisa) Shaffer; sister, Patricia Holowell; grandchildren, Lisa (John) Hogue, Maridith Shaffer, Amin Zerhouane, Mounir Zerhouane, and Salma Zerhouane; great-granddaughter, Kiersti (Kory) Mangels; and great-great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Ace Mangels.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Mogadore United Methodist Church, 3828 Mogadore Rd. in Mogadore with Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Following the memorial service, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
