Dorothy M. Kirby, age 90 of Akron, Ohio, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 6:20 AM at Akron City Hospital.
She was born on February 24, 1926 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Verda Mathias Richards.
Mrs. Kirby was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, traveling, and the love of her life of 68 years, her late husband, Roy M. Kirby. Dorothy had a sweet tooth and some of her favorites were twinkies and maple cream sticks. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include her children, Renee (Michael) Thompson, and Mark C. Kirby; two grandchildren, Ryan (fiancee Laura Fontello) Thompson, and Trenton Thompson; the family dog, Murph; nephews, Ray Pugh, Robert Pugh, James Postlewaite, and Scott Postlewaite; niece, Kim Postlewaite; a special friend and care taker, Carrie Thomas.
Other than her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Pugh, and her half-sister, Betty and Eddy Postlewaite.
Committal services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 12:45 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
