Dorothy Jean Rose, 80, of Akron, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Dorothy was born in Friendsville, Maryland on April 7, 1935 to the late Clarence and Marie Sisler. Dorothy retired from their family-owned business, Rose Upholstery. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and then Tallmadge United Methodist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy enjoyed hosting and cooking for her family on holidays and special occasions, and her family all greatly enjoyed her talents. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother, Don Sisler. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Edward; daughter, Tina Marie (Gregory) Janok and son, John (Cindy) Rose; brothers, Carroll (Annette) Sisler , Billy Rae (Janet) Sisler, Kenneth (Alice) Sisler and Marvin Dale (Betty) Sisler; sister, Shelby Diehl; grandchildren, Gwendolyn Rose, Jennifer (Jarrod) Chapman, Christine Janok, Alexander Janok and Theresa Janok; great grandchildren, Matthew Janok and Emma Janok, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on, Monday, April 27, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 9:30am with Rev. William Liming Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
