Doris H. Royce

Doris H Royce,94, of Akron, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. Doris was born in Akron, Ohio on June 29, 1920, to the late Till Daniel and Bertha Estrada. Doris volunteered for many years for Good Neighbors of North Hill receiving a commendation from the Mayor of Akron. She was a member of Eastern Star and North Hill Methodist Church for many years and sang in the choir. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Melville and son, Larry. Doris is survived by sons, Thomas (Joy) Royce, Michael (Claire) Royce, Danny (Tina) Royce and Terry A (Companion Cindy) Royce; sister, Lois Culver; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jon Royce,Tracy, Marcy, Matthew, and Christopher Shay; 11 great grandchildren and niece, Barbara Lewis. The family wishes to thank the staff at National Church Residence of Bath Rd Cuyahoga Falls for their loving care given to Doris. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Interment at North Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flower donations can be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Dr. Suite 100 Columbia MD 21046.
