Doris E. Hartenstein, 90, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2016. A longtime Akron resident, Doris relocated to Hobe Sound, FL in 1979 and recently returned to stay with family. Doris enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, watching game shows, and snacking. She was very outspoken, confident, caring, opinionated, ornery, and enjoyed joking around.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Gene; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Roger Lewis, Harold Lewis, Ellen Melton, and Elaine Taucher; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place per her wishes. In honor of her memory, please consider making a contribution to a charity of your choice.
