Doris C. Wagster

Doris Catherine Wagster, 88, longtime resident of Uniontown, took her first heavenly breath on November 23, 2012, surrounded by her family, the same day she took her first earthly breath on November 23, 1924 in Akron to William J. and Anna (nee Martin) Briggs.

Doris faithfully served 21 years as a military wife and mother in war and peace. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the church choir for many years. Her unconditional love and commitment to God, country and family was admired by all who knew her. "Grandma Doris", as she was called by many, was known for her kindness and concern. She always thanked the Lord for her family and her good life. She never said, "Good bye", but, "See you later."

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Kenneth D. Wagster; grandson, Lt. Robert Forwalder, U.S.N.; 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Survived by her children, Danny (Wanda) Wagster of Massillon, OH, Beverly (Mel) Forwalder of Uniontown, OH and John (Lulu) Wagster of Spring Hill, TN; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many other relatives and loved ones. Friends may call 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
