Donna L. Porter

Donna L. Porter gracefully completed her earthly journey on December 3, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 31, 1938, Donna's life was a testament to love, service, and unwavering faith.

In every aspect of her being, Donna embodied the essence of compassion. Her heart, was ever ready to embrace those in need, particularly through her beloved church. It was here that she nurtured friendships and found her joy in caring for others, establishing deep connections with her church family who adored her infectious smile and warm demeanor. Donna's passion for singing and dancing filled the halls with life and laughter, a true reflection of her spirit that inspired those around her to join in the celebration of life.

Seated in her favorite corner with a word find puzzle or a daily devotional Bible verse, Donna found tranquility and inspiration in the written word. Her years of dedicated service as a Counselor at Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Center were marked by her special gift for uplifting young lives, always encouraging them to reach for their dreams. Her work was not just a career but a calling, highlighting her intrinsic desire to help others find their way.

Donna's legacy will continue to shine brightly through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Deborah Coffe, and her son-in-law, John Coffe. Her son, Dan Porter, and his wife, Donna Porter, embrace the love and lessons imparted by their remarkable mother. The joy of being a grandmother to Daniel Jr., Danielle, Dalton, Dakota and a great-grandmother to Lyric and Levi brings forth the beautiful legacy of generations that Donna wove with her care and affection.

As we reflect on the life of this extraordinary woman, we remember not just the milestones marked by years but the moments etched in our hearts—her laughter ringing through our gatherings and her gracious spirit illuminating our paths. Though she is now united with those who preceded her, including her dear parents, John Clifford Ress and Lucille Ross, and numerous cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins, her legacy of love remains a guiding light in the lives she touched.

Donna L. Porter will be remembered not only for her boundless kindness but also for her unwavering dedication to family, faith, and service. Her spirit will forever echo in the lives she shaped and the hearts she continues to inspire.

There will be a Celebration of Donna's Life on Friday, December 12th at 6pm at The Vine Fellowship Church.
