Donna Jean Tobias

Donna Jean Tobias, 79, transitioned peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2015, following a short illness.
Donna was born in Akron and graduated from East High School in 1953. She, John and the boys moved to the Uniontown area in 1969. Donna worked as an insurance agent for many years, retiring from Don Crum Agency in Tallmadge in 2000. Of most importance to Donna was the time she spent with her family celebrating birthdays and holiday traditions throughout each year. Donna will be remembered as a devoted wife, gentle-hearted, patient mother and "Grandma" and expert pie-maker.
Preceded in death by her parents Pete and Mae Bittinger and four siblings, Donna will be missed by her husband of 62 years, John David; sons Rick (Peggy) and Mike (Kathy); granddaughters Jody McCulley (Kevin); Katie Cummins (Ryan); Stephanie (fiancé Josh McIntyre), Sarah and Rachel; great grandchildren: Connor, Molly, Ava and Mya; many other family members including numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 10th from 4-6 at Eastwood Church of the Brethren at 581 Darrow Rd. Akron with memorial service to follow. Pastor Cindy Peel will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastwood Church of the Brethren.
