Donald E. Woods

Donald Eugene Woods, age 71, of Lakemore, Ohio, passed away on May 6, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1954, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, to Calvin and Patricia Woods.

Donald worked as a Boiler Operator at Kent State University, where he dedicated many years of hard work. Outside of work, he enjoyed the simple things in life that brought him happiness — watching professional wrestling, bowling, old westerns, and daytime mystery shows. He could often be found with a Speedway coffee in hand, a Busch nearby, and a Pall Mall Menthol Light in his other hand while checking his lottery tickets.

Donald was known for being a smart aleck with a sharp sense of humor and a personality people never forgot. His family and friends will always remember his favorite sayings: “You know what you should do?”, “It’s not my fault,” and “I don’t think you should boss me around.” Those little phrases, along with his humor and stubbornness, became part of the memories that made him who he was.

He is survived by his former spouse and mother of children, Rebecca Fazenbaker; his siblings, Wade (Wendy) Woods, Jacquie Orr, and Tracy (Sherry) Woods; his children, Sarah (Brad) Paul, Laura Woods, Donald (Tiffany) Woods Jr., Beth Woods, Joey Woods, Maria (Derek) Horning, Russell (Jordan) Woods, and Rebecca Woods; his grandchildren, Cecily Furr, Colin (Andrea) Furr, Kirin Furr, Eli (Emily) Furr, Madyson Moore, Baylee Moore, Millie Paul, Maddox Berisko, Lucy Horning, Dakota Jenior, Briar Paul, Blake Horning, Phoibe Woods, and Ruth Woods; and his great-grandchildren, Ransom Furr and Asher Furr.

Donald will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. His humor, stubbornness, and personality will never be forgotten.
