Donald R. Wood

Donald R. "Woody" Wood, age 81, passed away on Monday, April 01, 2013. He was born on January 29, 1932 in Akron, OH to the late Forrest and Elizabeth (Burns) Wood. Don retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Accounting department after over 35 years of service. Throughout his life, he coached many local men's baseball teams and loved watching Lake H.S. football and his nieces and nephews sporting events. Don made friends wherever he went whether it was in South Florida, where he would spend winters, or, more recently, the Greenview Inn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas L. Wood and niece, Lyn Wood. Don is survived by niece, Jill (Jim) Evans of Uniontown and their children, Monica (Pete) Hooley and Daniel (Sadie) Evans; nephew, Bret (Ginny) Wood of Mt. Dora, FL and their children, Morgan and Marshall Wood.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Greenview Inn, 4700 Massillon Rd, Uniontown, OH 44685. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lake Athletic Booster Club, PO Box 1057, Hartville, OH 44632.
