Donald Ball

Donald J Ball, 70, of Akron, passed away August 28, 2014. Donald was born in Akron, Ohio on July 11, 1944 to the late Chester and Betty Ball. Donald retired as a highly decorated Pilot from the U.S. Army in 1969. He worked as an Independent Contractor in the shipping industry until his sudden passing. Donald had great pride in serving his country, Ohio Sports and above all his family. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Clark. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Lorraine (Sis); Son, Mike (Andrea) Ball; four grandchildren, Ariel, Mackenzie, Sebastian and Savannah; step-sons, Michael and Charles Keith; siblings, Barbara (Joe) Vassalotti, Rosemary (Jack) Villers, Mary (Frank) D'Amico, Jean (Chris) Hershberger, Chuck (Karen) Ball and a host of nieces, nephews, friends. Words can't describe how greatly he will be missed as he touched so many lives. Family and friends may call on, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 4 to 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where funeral services will follow at 7:00pm. Private inurnment with Military Honors will take place at a later date in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
