Donald B. Smith, born on July 5, 1942, in Cherry Tree, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 5, 2025, in Akron, Ohio. He leaves behind a profound legacy that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

A proud graduate of Line High School, Donald dedicated 21 years of his life to the United Auto Workers at Chrysler in Twinsburg, Ohio. His hardworking spirit and dedication left mark on those who had the privilege to work alongside him, earning him respect and admiration in his professional circle.

Donald was a true family man who reveled in the joys of his loved ones. He was married to his beloved wife, Dorothy, for an incredible 61 years. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. His daughters, Donna Morehead and Kathy (Jay) Barrett, carry on his spirit and values, raising their own families with the same affection and warmth that Donald so generously gave.

As a doting grandfather, Donald watched proudly as his grandchildren: Zachary (Deanna) Morehead, Dylan Morehead, Miranda (Josh) Morgan, and Darion Barrett grew, each a reflection of the love and care he imparted. His joy only grew with the addition of great-grandchildren: Colton and Vanessa Morehead, Savannah and Landon Morgan, who brought immeasurable happiness to his heart.

Donald had a zest for life that extended far beyond his career. He adored the great outdoors, often found casting a line while fishing or embracing the thrill of NASCAR and Indy racing. The moments spent hunting with family in Pennsylvania were particularly dear to him, as were the days spent visiting the ocean, sitting on the beach, and soaking in the sun's warmth. These simple pleasures enriched his life and created lasting memories that will resonate within his family for generations.

A loving brother, Donald is survived by his siblings: Doyle Smith, Robert (Shirley) Smith, Sharron (Gene) Stewart, Barry Smith, Arlene Buggy, and Dennis (Brenda) Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews who fondly remember him. He was predeceased by his parents, Doyle Smith and Bessie Smith Fuller, and his sister, Betty Burneimer-Duncan, alongside siblings-in-law Lois Smith, Nancy Smith, and Stanley Buggy.

Meaningful to him was his favorite four-legged grandpup, Milo, whose playful presence brought joy to Donald's heart.

As the sun sets on Donald’s life, we take comfort in knowing that his pain and suffering are now over. He will forever be remembered as a gentle soul, a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a friend to many. His legacy of love, kindness, and passion for life remains in the hearts of those he cherished the most. Rest in peace, our loved one. You will be missed.

His wishes were to be cremated and there are no formal services.
