Donald R. "Don" Alvarez

Donald R. "Don" Alvarez on September 7, 2025 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Colin and Hunter Morey and the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Sharon Alvarez on March 12, 2019.

Don graduated from Garfield High School in 1953, and retired from the Akron Police Department in 1987 after 32 years of service. He was a member of F.O.P. Lodge #7.

Don enjoyed all sports and followed the Guardians, Browns, Cavaliers, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Don is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly Samuels; granddaughter Kara Morey; great-granddaughter McKenna Morey; step-sons Robert "Bob" (Debbie) Six, Terry Six and Steve (Robin) Six and their families. He is also survived by his cousin Sue Ann (Tani) Prieto and their family and his sister-in-law Joyce Reed.
