Dohn "Tony" Miller, 68 of North Canton passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 after a brief illness. Tony was born in Ashland, Ohio on May 4, 1946 to the late Donald R. and Norma P. Miller. He retired in 2009 from Alcoa after 25 years of service.
Tony is survived by his wife Karen Doddy Miller; son Russ Miller (Kim Palmer) and daughter Kerry (Bobby) Bell; granddaughters Haylee, Gracie, Trinity Bell and Simone Miller; sister Barbara Ann (Matt) Osterhaudt and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He loved golf, good scotch and the highs and lows of being a Syracuse basketball fan. He founded The Miller Open - a golf tournament that gave the winner a years worth of office supremacy. He was a generous friend, a loving and involved parent, grandparent and for nearly 43 years of marriage was in every sense a partner. Tony was an expert gift giver who out-did Santa by keeping loved ones on his "nice" list all year. In recent years, he enjoyed visiting family and friends as well as ballpark vendors and blackjack dealers around the country.
Those who knew him will remember him fondly. Those who loved him will miss him terribly. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to donate to American Cancer Society or a favorite charity. In honoring Tony's wishes, he will be cremated and the family will receive friends on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. The family is also planning a rememberance Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Fair Haven, NY.
