Diane (Irvin) Blash , known to her loved ones as "Blue", went home to be with the Lord and her parents on December 2, 2025. Diane was born in Akron, Ohio on May 18, 1953 to the late Johnnie Irvin Sr. and Leola Irvin. She was the second eldest of a loving family of eight children.
Diane graduated from East High School Class of 1972 and spent her career in healthcare.
In her free time, Diane had many interests. She loved traveling, trips to the casino, shopping, and dog races. She loved a good meal and could always be counted on to bring her famous potato salad to family gatherings. She loved watching TV - some of her favorite shows included The Young and the Restless, Gunsmoke, sci fi movies and Lifetime movies.
Diane's faith carried her through times of joy and times of struggle. She found a second family in the congregation at Open Door Assembly of God.
She was a wonderful sister, aunt, cousin, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband, David Blash.
She leaves to mourn her siblings, Carrie Lee Pruiett, Deborah Ann Lopp, Johnnie Irvin Jr., Clyde Irvin, Elaine Irvin, Annette Irvin, and Ted Jones; special cousin, Vicky Hayes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Diane's family wishes to thank her special friends Brenda Somerville, Carol Greer, Julia Hooks, and Ernestine Small for their kindness and friendship.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 12:00 pm with visitation for one hour prior at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service.
