Denzel Daris Hardway

Denzel Daris Hardway, 83, passed away on September 27, 2026.

Born on April 29, 1943, Denzel lived a life marked by devotion to his family, pride in his service, and enjoyment of the simple things that brought him happiness. He was a proud United States Army veteran who served in the 3rd Squadron, 8th Cavalry. His love of country was an important part of his life and reflected the strength and steadiness with which he carried himself.

Denzel shared 61 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Ruby Hardway, a lasting bond that stood at the heart of his life. He loved Ruby deeply, and their years together were a testament to commitment, companionship, and enduring love.

He also found great joy in the pastimes he loved most. Denzel enjoyed fishing, listening to bluegrass music, and spending time in the garden, especially tending to roses. He also loved working on his 1954 Ford, a pursuit that surely reflected both his patience and his appreciation for craftsmanship.

Denzel will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hardway; his daughters, Debbie Brink and her husband, Jeff, and Cheryl Strizak; his son, Glen Hardway and his wife, April; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Janice Blake; and his brother, Leonard Hardway and his wife, Rotha. He leaves behind the love of a close and cherished family who will carry his memory forward with gratitude and affection.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hardway; his mother, Bonnie Hardway; his brother, Jack Hardway; and his sister, Norma Drake.

Denzel Daris Hardway will be remembered with love for his faithful heart, his service to his country, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
