Denver Tate, 87, of Akron, passed away March 28, 2013. He was born in Jonesboro, TN on July 25, 1925 to the late Clifton and Hazel Tate. Denver worked for ARA Food Services at BF Goodrich for 40 plus years, drove school bus for the Springfield school system and was an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva; brothers, Howard and James.
Denver is survived by his sons, Marcus (Mary Jo) and Tommy (Sandy); daughters, Becky Anderson, Martha (Doug Keagy) Lesar; sister, Margaret Harlan; brother, Ron Tate; sister-in-laws, Myrtle Tate and Irene Tate; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Monday, April 1, from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron and Tuesday, April 2, from 10-11 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Baptist Church, 2330 E. Market St., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Bogue and Pastor Don Davies officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
