Denton Whitehead, 84, of Tallmadge, OH, passed away April 2, 2013, after a short battle with cancer. Denton was born August 9, 1928, in Tennessee. He lived most of his adult life in the Akron area. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1951-1954. Denton was a very accomplished man with many skills.
He was preceded in death by his son, Denton Eugene.
Denton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jackie; children, Sandy Gazafy, Bill (Robin) and David; grandchildren, Derek (Carly), Jordan and Alison Gazafy, Kaylin and Denton Whitehead; great-granddaughter, Audrey Gazafy; sister, Gereva Knight; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Friday, April 5, from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Burial to take place at the Robinson Family Cemetery in Greasy Creek, Kentucky on Sunday, April 7.
