Dennis A. Brown

Dennis Allen Brown, 67, of Stow, had a change of address on October 22, 2026, joining his father Ned and brother Kevin in Heaven.

Dennis is survived by his loving mother Estella; son Tyler (Courtney) Brown and Chris May; siblings and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was known for his great sense of humor; he loved cracking jokes, telling stories...anything to make someone smile. He made friends easily, and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Dennis is lovingly described by his sons as authentic, a genuine, ornery guy that liked to keep them on their toes.

Dennis loved the outdoors, especially the trees, which led to a successful career in the tree trimming business, first at Davey Tree and then his own company, Denny's Lawn & Tree Service. He liked to relax on the shore with a fishing pole in his hand, a skill he learned from his dad, Ned. They traveled together often on hunting and fishing trips, sometimes up to Canada and one memorable gold mining expedition to Arizona.

Dennis' faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he was a longtime attendee of Kent Freewill Baptist Church. He loved getting together with his church friends and family every Sunday.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Tuesday, October 27th from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., when a memorial service will begin with Pastors Kevin Stutler and Roy Durieux officiating. Dennis will be laid to rest at a later date at Standing Rock Cemetery near his father, Ned. To share a memory of Dennis or leave a special message for his family, visit the guest book below.
