Denise Annette Alexander, 71, passed away on October 24, 2026.

Denise was a woman whose warmth and spirit left a lasting impression on those around her. Family oriented in every sense, she treasured the people she loved and found great joy in being together. She was known as the life of the party, someone who could make people laugh with her jovial attitude and bring lightness to any gathering. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those moments with family were among the dearest parts of her life.

She also expressed her love through creativity and care for others. Denise crocheted afghans, baby blankets, and stuffed animals for her great-grandchildren, creating keepsakes that will continue to carry her love forward. She enjoyed making diaper cakes, Christmas wreaths, swags, and all kinds of crafts, sharing her talents generously with those around her. She found pleasure in simple favorites as well, including visits to LongHorn Steakhouse, watching Hallmark Christmas movies, following Oxygen true crime programs, and enjoying her favorite television show, The Big Bang Theory.

Above all, Denise deeply loved her husband, Bruce, with whom she had shared life since 1982. Their many years together were a central and cherished part of her story.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Alexander; her daughter, Diana Burkadt; her sons, Eric Burkadt and Carissa, and Chris Burkadt and Jessica; her grandchildren, Zakk, Erica, Brandain, McKenzie, and Nolan; and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Kallie, Kaysen, Isaac, Aubree, McKinley and Ram. She is also survived by her brother, Dan Cook and Debbie; her sister, Karen Thomas; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were part of the family circle she held so dear.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Delores Cook; her brothers, Jimmy Cook and Dean Cook; and her sister, Darlene Oliver.

Denise will be remembered for her laughter, her devotion to family, her generous heart, and the many handmade gifts and happy memories she leaves behind. Her love will continue to be felt in the family she cherished so deeply.
