Danean Lynn DeCastro (Hershberger)

Danean Lynn DeCastro (Hershberger) 56, passed away on May 31, 2015. She was born in Akron, OH on August 27, 1958 to Robert and Patricia Hershberger. She graduated from Garfield High School class of 1976 where she competed in Varsity Gymnastics. Danean enjoyed reading, writing, painting and was an avid pet lover. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Whether it was a backyard cookout, a full day of family volleyball at the water park or a beach vacation, Danean was happiest with family, friends, laughter and sunshine.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Granny Mae; father, Robert; brother, Robert Jr.; mother in-law, Josephine DeCastro. She will be greatly missed by her 3 children she shares with Louis Frank DeCastro, Jr.: Dustin (Dawn) DeCastro, Brandon (Lindsey) DeCastro, and Wendy (Brian) Hickok; mother, Patricia Hershberger; sister, Shelly (Hope) Hershberger; brothers, John and Mike Hershberger; grandchildren, Mia, Maddie, Luka and Nikos DeCastro; the DeCastro family, the Hershberger family, and a multitude of close family friends.

Family will receive friends on Friday June 5, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. with memorial service starting at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWSibilities Humane Society of Greater Akron at www.summithumane.org.
