Debbie (Perdew) Slabaugh, 62, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 6, 1963, Debbie lived a life rooted in love, selflessness, and quiet strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. For over 30 years, she shared a deep and enduring marriage with her beloved husband, Joe, who lovingly cared for her during her illness.
Debbie was a devoted mother whose greatest pride was her son, Corey (Paige) Marisavljevich. She supported him through every stage of life, celebrating his successes and standing beside him through life’s challenges with patience, compassion, and grace. Being a mother was not just a role to Debbie — it was her heart, her purpose, and her proudest calling.
She found special joy in being a grandmother and cherished time spent with her grandchildren, Parker and Thea, whose laughter and love brought her immeasurable happiness. Debbie also held deep affection for her daughter-in-law, Paige, who shared in the family’s love and devotion.
Debbie was known for her warm presence, her listening ear, and her gentle strength. Her home was a place of comfort, unconditional love, and belonging — a reflection of the care she poured into her family every day.
Debbie leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of over 30 years, Joe; her son and daughter-in-law, Corey (Paige) Marisavljevich; her grandchildren, Parker and Thea; her brothers, Marvin (Chris) Perdew and Mark (Lori) Perdew; her sisters, Sharon (Ed) Krayeski and Barb Markland, all of whom live locally; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where memorial service will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Randy Baker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debbie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, Debbie’s love, strength, and legacy as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister will continue to guide and surround her family — today, tomorrow, and always.
