David Lee Stephens, a cherished figure in the lives of all who knew him, passed away on November 28, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Akron, Ohio, at the age of 69. Born on August 10, 1956, David led a life steeped in devotion, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family.
A proud graduate of Ellet High School, David embarked on a dedicated career that showcased his industrious spirit. His commitment extended beyond professional life; he proudly served in the United States Navy from October 3, 1977, to October 2, 1981, representing his country with honor and distinction.
David was not just a hardworking man; he was a beacon of joy and warmth. Known for his fun and outgoing personality, he had a remarkable ability to light up a room and bring smiles to faces young and old alike. He had an enduring passion for life, which shone through in his many hobbies and interests. Whether he was fishing outdoors or strumming his guitar, David embraced every moment with fervor. He particularly adored the time spent with his grandchildren, relishing the simple joys of playing catch with his grandsons and creating lasting memories that will forever echo in their hearts.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Ivy Stephens and Benjamin (Moriah) Stephens, along with his precious grandchildren: Eric McAllister, Adrianna Stephens, Santanna Stephens, Timothy Wisener Jr., Gabrielle Stephens, Michael Stephens, and Liam Stephens.
David is also survived by his devoted sister, Rose (Kenny) McDade, and his sister-in-law, Patty Stephens. He treasured his niece and nephew, Samantha (John) Bridge and Charles Stephens, as well as many other beloved cousins, relatives, and friends who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Though David has been reunited with his parents, Clyde David and Goldie May (Bennett) Stephens, and his brother, Charles Franklin Stephens, who have all passed on, his legacy will live on through the lives he touched. His heartfelt laughter, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering love will be deeply missed but will never be forgotten.
As we say goodbye to David Lee Stephens, may we honor his memory by continuing to celebrate life, love, and laughter just as he did.
