David S. Smith, 88, entered into his final rest on Nov. 26th, 2016. Born in Aurora WV, to the late David T. & Iva Inez Smith. After serving in the US Army 25th Infantry Recon Co in 1950 during the Korean War he made Springfield Twp his home until moving to Indian Land SC in 2013. David loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was proud of his 37 years employment at Goodyear Tire.
Preceded in death by his son Brian and 5 brothers & 3 sisters. Survived by his wife Janet, son Kerry (Cindy), daughter Sandy (Luke) Crites, daughter-in-law, Marybeth. 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation Fri 12/2 7-9pm, and Funeral Services Sat 12/3 at 11:00am, Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. He will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park.
