David Lee Hymes, Sr.
March 25, 1933 — April 23, 2014
David Lee Hymes, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, departed this life on April 23, 2014.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 58 years, Rosemary; children, David Lee, Jr. (Edie), daughter, Robin (Peter) Gross and son, Shannon Andrew; grandchildren, Sara, Aaron (Rainy), Camille, Emma, and Rachel; great-grandson, Knox; and 11 siblings.
David retired from General Tire after 27 years of service, where he was a union safety coordinator, and was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served with the US Army. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping with his family.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
